Determining the Right Amount of Airflow for a Space

At Price, we pride ourselves on being industry leaders in room air distribution. Our manufactured products are designed around a common goal: to keep the room air clean, dry and comfortable. This is often accomplished by blowing a jet of conditioned, fresh air through a grille, register or diffuser (GRD) throughout a room to properly ventilate it.

A Flexible, Localized Air Handling Solution

The fan column is a vertical fan unit designed to discharge air into a raised access floor plenum. The unit may be likened to an air handler as it mixes filtered, cooled return air with pre-treated outside air typically from a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS) to achieve the design supply air temperature, then discharge the mixed air into the raised access floor plenum.

The Evolution of Perimeter Underfloor Air Distribution Design

Posted by Chris Burroughs on April 20, 2021 at 8:38 AM

Perimeter offerings that provide flexibility and efficiency

The future of commercial office design faces a number of challenges, including a shift away from densely occupied open office concepts and a heightened concern for occupant health. North America continues to adopt newer energy codes that task design firms to further reduce energy consumption. In addition, indoor air quality (IAQ) has arguably become a principal element of building design.

Although several air distribution systems can be designed to succeed at both of these elements, underfloor air distribution (UFAD) offers significant flexibility and IAQ improvements over traditional air distribution approaches. While the interior zone design has changed little over the years, the perimeter offering has evolved significantly.
