What Are EC Motors?

Posted by Price Industries on November 2, 2021 at 12:31 PM

Providing Terminal Units with Energy Efficiency and Control

Fan-powered terminal units use a motor and blower assembly to handle high levels of external static pressure, which enables the product to serve long duct runs and multiple air outlets. Using a motor within an assembly allows for smaller air handling units and gives the terminal unit the ability to tolerate variability in the heating and cooling requirements of exterior zones.

A Time for Learning and Reflection

This summer, the government of Canada announced that September 30 will be the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day will commemorate the tragic history and ongoing intergenerational impact of Canadian residential schools.

Price encourages everyone to use this day to learn about and reflect on the history of residential schools and to honor the survivors, families and communities that continue to grieve for those who were lost. This is an opportunity for us all to explore the diverse cultures and stories of the Indigenous peoples of Canada and to work toward meaningful change.

What Is a Silencer?

Posted by Price Industries on September 7, 2021 at 9:59 AM

A Practical, Engineered Solution for Controlling Noise

Silencers, also referred to as sound attenuators or sound traps, are used as part of the HVAC system to reduce the noise that would otherwise be transmitted to the nearest indoor or outdoor space. In large commercial or industrial applications, silencers can be used in large banks to prevent noise from transferring into the environment.

How To Optimize Hydronic Systems

Posted by Price Industries on August 10, 2021 at 10:30 AM

Reducing overall energy consumption with Chilled Beams

In modern buildings, the heating, cooling, and ventilation systems consume a large portion of the total energy use. This creates an obvious target when looking for areas where improvements and optimizations can reduce annual energy consumption. Costs associated with these improvements can be reduced year over year. Within the HVAC system, the largest consumer of energy will typically be fan energy. Using hydronic systems to transport heating or cooling energy throughout a building is a great way to dramatically reduce the overall energy consumption of the entire HVAC system.
