## Bringing Training, Testing and Innovation Together

We are excited to unveil Price Technical Center North (PTCN) at Price’s headquarters in Winnipeg, MB! Originally part of [Price Research Center North (PRCN)](https://priceindustries.com/corporate/research-innovation/#Research-Centers), this 4,000 sq. ft. space is now a living showroom that’s home to 20 interactive displays, each one carefully planned to deliver an in-depth and enriching experience for all who visit.

Building on the success of [Price Technical Center East (PTCE)](https://blog.priceindustries.com/price-technical-center-in-atlanta-ga) in Suwanee, GA, and [Price Technical Center West (PTCW)](https://blog.priceindustries.com/inside-price-price-technical-center-west) in Casa Grande, AZ, PTCN features many of our classic displays as well as several new and reimagined demos.

### New and Notable

The [Noise Control](https://priceindustries.com/product-category/noise-control/) team set out with an ambitious plan to create a display space that illustrates several acoustic principles while simultaneously reducing noise coming from the adjacent PRCN pump room. The resulting 385 sq. ft. [acoustic enclosure](https://blog.priceindustries.com/what-is-an-acoustic-panel) does just that! Inside, you will find a new [Silencer](https://blog.priceindustries.com/what-is-a-silencer) Display and will be able to experience different sound levels for yourself.

The new Hybrid Operating Room [Ultrasuite](https://blog.priceindustries.com/what-is-an-integrated-operating-room-ceiling-system) Display area has already proved to be a useful asset for the Critical Environments team, bringing in consulting engineers and installing contractors to view the space throughout its construction. With this room, more than any other, the construction process was almost as important as the final result.

### Risk and Reward

We embraced [Price’s tenet of risk](https://blog.priceindustries.com/the-price-way-risk) from the early stages of the project. A great example of this is the Vertical Air Change Blower Coil (ACHUV), which is central to the design of the Hybrid OR Ultrasuite Display room.

No formal drawings of the ACHUV existed at the time demolition began. Going from an idea to designing, building and installing a 14 ft. tall [blower coil](https://blog.priceindustries.com/what-is-a-blower-coil-unit) in under a year is no easy feat. It would not have been possible without the hard work and collaboration of everyone involved – and it sure helped that the prototype was tested in PRCN less than 100 ft. away from where it was installed.

### Two Experiences in One Visit

Science and innovation are integral parts of all Price Technical Centers; however, the combination of PRCN and PTCN offers a truly unique experience. Touring both facilities illustrates the connection between the products and the specialized test chambers where they were developed and tested.

Without extensive lab testing, many of the displays would not be possible – whether it be the new [Fan Coil](https://blog.priceindustries.com/how-do-fan-coil-units-work) Display that utilizes live rpm measurements to display fan performance in real time, allowing engineers to witness how changes in inlet conditions or filter load impact the operation, or the [Vantage](https://priceindustries.com/product/sdv-vantage-high-performance-single-duct-unit/) Display, which showcases airflow and temperature patterns through the coil using data captured in the psychrometric chamber next door.

All the engineering teams based out of Winnipeg are already benefitting from having PTCN just a short walk downstairs for both internal and external training, but we doubt any group appreciates it more than [GRD](https://priceindustries.com/product-category/grilles/). With the new GRD Wall, there’s no need to lug around bins of product samples and set up tables each time the team wants to create a display for visitors. This 30 ft. wall was a major project, and lots of effort went into selecting and laying out all the samples. Every detail was considered, down to new purpose-designed mounting brackets that allow samples to come on and off the wall easily.
